BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Raymond Shorrocks, Chairman

Ray has over 27 years’ experience working in the investment banking industry. He is highly conversant and experienced in all areas of mergers and acquisitions and equity capital markets, including a significant track record of transactions in the metals and mining, oil and gas and industrials sectors.

Ray is currently Chairman of Galilee Energy Limited, a non-executive director of Indago Energy Limited and a number of private companies. Ray is a former executive director and head of the corporate finance department of Patersons Securities Limited in Sydney and previously was Chairman of Bellevue Gold Limited and Estrella Resources Ltd.

David Fraser, Managing Director

David is the Founder of RZ Resources Limited, incorporating the company in 2012.

David was the Global Head of Distribution for one of Australia’s largest Alternative Investment companies, where he was responsible for developing and raising capital for both domestic and offshore opportunities.

David worked for Credit Suisse where he was responsible for growing funds under management, managing high net worth client portfolios and facilitating investment opportunities for other Banking divisions. During his tenure at Credit Suisse, David was recognised with an Australian Private Banking award for his outstanding relationship management.

Chris Cobb, Non-Executive Director

Chris has over 40 years’ experience in the Mining and Extractive Industries having worked in various roles in Europe, Africa, US, Asia and Australia.  Chris is the former Head of Alliances, New Ventures and Royalties and M&A as well as Head of Global Marketing at Iluka Resources.  Chris’ previous roles included five years as Managing Director of Consolidated Rutile, 12 years in copper/cobalt mining in Zambia and four years as Chief Executive of the largest construction materials company in Malaysia.

Chris has an in-depth knowledge of the mineral sands industry gleaned in his roles as MD at CRL and diverse roles at Iluka, as well having held multiple Board positions in Europe, Asia and Australia.

David D Lyons, Executive Director

David is partner of a global law firm, Chair of Naturalena Brands Advisory Board, Director of Brisbane Powerhouse, Deputy Chair of Diving Australia and has been or continues to be involved with a large number of other organisations (in connection with trade and investment in Asia, the Americas and Europe).

David has significant experience acting on behalf of a range of international corporations as a trusted advisor providing strategic advice on a range of complex issues and matters thereby bringing additional expertise in the areas of investment, finance and law to the Board.

David has a long-standing interest in trade and investment with Asia and is or has been a board member of a number of Asian business councils and associations.

Campbell Jones, Non-Executive Director

Campbell Jones is a veteran of the industrial minerals sector, having amassed 30+ years of experience with top-tier firms such as Baker Hughes, Normandy Mining, Sibelco/Unimin and Covia Corp.

During his tenure with Unimin Australia, Campbell rose to EGM/COO before becoming the youngest CEO in Sibelco Australia’s history from 2006 to 2015.

In 2015 he became US-based global head of Unimin, overseeing the operations of 208 mines worldwide, and most recently served as Executive VP of Covia Corp from 2018 to 2022.

Campbell’s industry success is attributed to his expertise in supply chain and network optimization, as well as his proficiency in executive mentorship, commercial excellence, strategic planning and innovation.

Elissa Hansen, Company Secretary

Elissa is a Chartered Secretary with over 20 years’ experience as a company secretary and corporate governance professional.

She has worked with boards and management of a range of ASX listed companies including assisting companies through the IPO process.

Her experience covers a variety of industries including resources, information technology, industrials and biotechnology. Elissa currently acts as the Company Secretary for a number of ASX listed companies, together with a portfolio of unlisted companies, offering best practice governance advice and ensuring compliance with the Listing Rules, Corporations Act and other relevant legislation.

EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Jonathan Mattiske, Chief Financial Officer

Jonathan has over 20 years’ financial and management experience, most recently as Chief Financial Officer for Melior Resources, a Canadian listed mineral sands group.

His experience has involved all areas of corporate and financial management, project financing, debt structuring, listings, mergers and acquisitions, capital project control, project commissioning and the establishment of systems and procedures for new operations.

Jonathan has a strong understanding of the mineral sand market fundamentals having been involved in the negotiations of off-take agreements, sales contracts, and product marketing.

John Costigan, Chief Operating Officer

John has over 35 years’ experience in the Mining and Petrochemical industries holding senior Engineering and Operations leadership roles. His experience includes Project Engineering, Project Management, capital and operational improvement portfolio management, operations and processing senior leadership.

John has over 11 years’ experience in the mineral sands industry as the Engineering Manager, MSP manager and Operations GM for Consolidated Rutile and Sibelco’s mineral sands business unit including leadership of the former Sibelco Pinkenba Mineral Separation Plant now occupied by RZ Resources.

John is appointed to deliver the Copi Mine and other projects to operations.

Graeme O’Grady, Chief Marketing Officer

Graeme is a widely known and respected industry professional with more than 30 years’ experience across a range of operational and commercial roles within mineral sands.

Having previously worked for Iluka, Doral and MZI, he has gained broad experience in international trade with a sales and marketing background (mineral sands, fused materials, industrial minerals). This has provided a variety of commercial experiences with a strong focus on supply chain management through building strong customer relationships. He is also a past board member of the Zircon Industry Association.

Graeme is proficient in all aspects of global logistics including multi-modal land transport, containerized and bulk shipments and has experience in policy and business development working across multiple disciplines

Paul Smith, General Manager Environment, Sustainability and Governance

Paul has over 20 years’ mining experience working at the forefront of environmental management, community engagement and government relations.

Paul has held senior management roles with Consolidated Rutile, Unimin and Sibelco, and group advisory roles with RGC and Iluka. 

He specialises in land use planning, environmental management of mines and issues management, with an extensive background in rehabilitation and restoration of ecosystems after mining. Paul experience is unique having also been the senior media spokesperson and government relations expert for both private and government organisations.

Wesley Jones, General Manager Exploration 

Wesley is a geologist with over 15 years’ multi-commodity experience in platinum, iron ore and mineral sands, working with and leading teams of experienced professionals to safely deliver exploration projects in South Africa, Australia and Asia during the last seven years.

Wesley was a Senior Exploration Geologist for Iluka in South Australia and Sri Lanka. Wesley’s specialist skills are in all phases of the exploration cycle, from greenfield through to brownfield exploration, to definitive feasibility studies, project evaluations, due diligence and dealing with relevant government agencies.

Alan Kucurs, General Manager    Technical Services

Alan is a Mining Engineer with over 25 years’ experience in the Mining Industry. He has worked on large scale mineral sands dredging and dry mining operations in Australia and overseas for companies such as Iluka, Cristal, Tronox, and Eramet. He has been involved with taking mines from study level through construction and to successful operation.

Alan was the Technical Services Manager from inception for TiZir’s Grande Cote Operations in Senegal, West Africa, which is the largest single dredge mineral sands operation in the world. Alan’s specialist skills are in mine design and planning, mine optimisation and equipment selection, project and contractor management, and in leadership of mining teams.

William Haseler, General Counsel

Bill has been admitted as a Solicitor since 1992 and has been acting as General Counsel for resource companies since 2002. Bill is highly experienced in all legal matters including litigation, arbitration and any environmental, Native Title or Workplace health and safety matters.

Bill brings not only his wide-ranging legal knowledge but also his experience as a Landholder prior to commencement of his legal studies which has assisted him with establishing processes to obtain land access, land purchase, and all necessary consents and agreements. 

As an experienced mediator, Bill has conducted negotiations with Landholders, Native Title Groups, local authorities, as well as State and Federal Governments.

Steve Cover, MSP Manager

Steve is a Maintenance Superintendent and Site Manager with 35 years’ experience in mineral sands processing.

Having worked as an Electrician and Maintenance Supervisor with Consolidated Rutile, Maintenance Superintendent with Unimin and Sibelco.

Steve has extensive experience within the mineral sands processing plants, having worked on many plant upgrades, modifications and maintenance and more recently as Site Manager of the processing plant at Pinkenba during the winding up of operations for Sibelco.
